INFORMATION
Lui Araki Solo Exhibition - COLOR / SCAPE -
September 7th (Sat) - September 21st (Sat), 2024
Lui Araki is a photographer who, while working as a professional skateboarder, always carries a film camera with him around the world, capturing landscapes and people. Araki debuted as a professional skateboarder at the age of 16, and in the late 1990s he joined the NYC deck company "ZOO YORK," expanding his activities around the world. Araki, who had been taking photographs daily since childhood, continued to carry his camera with him wherever he went, capturing people and landscapes, even after his professional debut. Araki has consistently used film cameras throughout his career. He captures beautiful moments that seem to pass by casually through his lens, and carefully creates his photographs using traditional methods in his home darkroom.
This exhibition will feature representative works that Araki has photographed in various locations over the past few years, including Tokyo, New York, and Paris.
