INFORMATION

Junsuke Yokoyama-THINGS NAVER STAYS-
July 12th (Fri) - July 27th (Sat), 2024

Yokoyama has previously exhibited his paintings and sculptures mainly in the United States and Europe, but this exhibition brings together his "THING" series, which he has been focusing on since around 2021.
The artist's basic concept of "Imagine what you want to make, then think of a way to make it happen, and create everything with your own hands using materials that you have at hand" remains the same, and the artist's goal is to "introduce artists who think with their own heads and create with their own hands."
After about three years of trial and error, nine types of "THING" were released. The motif of the apple is the most universal, well-known thing, something that can be likened to something, something that can be perceived as a symbol of the world, and the way this apple (the world) changes into various shapes is expressed with outstanding ideas and techniques.
Additionally, we have produced multiple copies of our iconic works, [THING-R] and [THING1-G]. These are unique pieces, not editions, and we have taken on the challenge of creating slight variations while still producing the same pieces by hand using the same process.

"Thing"
The world continues to exist.
While changing little by little.
Someday, changes will occur that are beyond our current understanding.
The changes that will occur in the future are always
I want it to be something that leads to a better world.
